Saturday and Sunday is the Jet City Retro classic videogame show in Seattle's University District in the Deca Hotel. We showed up there early this morning and although things were still a bit slow there were some awesome deals! I bought quite a few games and played a few rounds of Vectrex, Frogger and watch some folks jam on Rockband in the free game rooms.

Before the opening of the show, tons of goodies are waiting to be unpacked! On the right: Nate (the organizer) being interviewed by KIRO 710 News Radio.

The Rockband room has a full setup with drums, mic and 2 guitars and if you ever wanted to try this game with a "full band" this is your chance! The second free game room has some arcade machines, a MAME cabinet, some classic consoles (Vectrex etc.) and lots of cartridges on loan!

Director Seth Gordon's movie about a local guy's quest to become the new Donkey Kong champion and beat arcade master Billy Mitchell is currently showing at Seattle's Varsity Theater.

The movie's hero Donkey Kong player Steve Wiebe will attend in person on Fri & Sat, Aug 17 & 18 at 7:00 & 9:20pm!
He will be present for Q&As after the 7:00pm shows Friday (tonight!) and Saturday, and will introduce the 9:20pm shows both nights.

One Quarter. Two Days. No Pause Button. Friday 10/13/2006 the Central Cinema in Seattle will show the movie HIGH SCORE, a documentary about a man trying to break the world record in Atari's Missile Command arcade game. This man is Bill Carlton from Portland and in order to break this 20-year old record of 80 million points he will have to play over 2 days straight with no sleep.

Showtimes at the Central Cinema are at 7:00 and 9:30 in the evening, we will be there for the 7:00 PM show. And hey, I heard they have good pizza too! :)
